A is for Adultery, Angst and Adults Only

Published in 2002 by Workman Publishing, New York

In 2002, Sara’s love of lettering led her to produce A is for Adultery, Angst and Adults Only, an illustrated alphabet book for adults. Each letter is accompanied by words and vignettes.

Later, Sara then revisited an idea from her early work that an alphabet could be created from 11 components. Paul Hanson, the artistic director at Workman saw her drawings of little figures hauling shapes to build letters, and helped create a kit for children to understand how the alphabet is formed. The result was published as How to Build and A by Workman in 2008.
