In and Out of the Garden

Published in 1991 by Workman Publishing, New York and in Great Britain by Sidgwick and Jackson

On a trip to New York Sara met Ted Riley who became her agent and took her to Workman Publishing who commissioned her first book In and Out of the Garden. At that time Sara lived in London and grew things in pots on her balcony but had always loved gardens and often visited them as a child. She had a very clear idea of what it would be and worked closely with her editor at Workman. Sally Kovalchick and her art director Paul Hanson. It was first published in the US and then Sidgwick and Jackson in the UK and by Sanrio in Japan.
